Billy Moyer Jr. Tops DIRTCar Summer Nationals at Farley

Batesville, Arkansas (06/21/15) – Billy Moyer Jr. scored the second win of 2015 in his Crop Production Services #21jr Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model with a triumph at Farley Speedway with the DIRTCar Summer Nationals.

Continuing on the 2015 Summernationals Hell Tour, Billy Moyer Jr. made the trip to Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Illinois) on Tuesday evening. With twenty-two cars on hand for the ILMO Propane Wildman Kelly Classic, Billy got off to a quick start by setting a new track record in qualifying. Starting in 2nd for the 40-lap A-Main, Moyer Jr. battled for the top spot until finding trouble with a lap car. Following the damage from the contact, Moyer Jr. persevered to finish 7th in the feature event.

On Wednesday night Billy Moyer Jr. visited Farley Speedway (Farley, Iowa) for another Hell Tour race, which was sanctioned by the DIRTCar Summer Nationals. With a strong field of 25 Super Late Models entered Billy followed his quick time in his qualifying group with a heat race win. In the finale, Moyer Jr. assumed the lead from the drop of the green flag and went on to lead all 50 laps to capture the $10,000 payday. He was followed across the finish line by Chris Simpson, Bobby Pierce, Shannon Babb and Chad Simpson. The victory marked his first Hell Tour victory of the 2015 season and his second triumph overall.

While Thursday and Friday night’s events at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois) and Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) fell victim to rain, the tour was able to resume action at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois). Moyer Jr. enjoyed a great run in the $10,000-to-win event, where he recorded a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Shannon Babb, and Ryan Unzicker.

“After some mechanical issues to start the Summer Nationals, it sure felt good to get the monkey off our back with the win,” said Moyer Jr. “Hopefully we can continue to enjoy success. I’m still not sure if we’ll stick with the whole tour, so right now we’ll continue to take it race by race.”

Billy is currently second in the series standings. For more results from this event and complete standings, please visit www.TheHellTour.com .
