Ray Cook Ready for Peach State Triple Shot After Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing rolled into Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, June 20 for the 'Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic,' which was once again sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Ray Cook clicked off the ninth fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later placed fifth in his stacked heat race. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Ray started the $10,000 to win headliner from the outside of the ninth row. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace unfortunately suffered a broken rear-end during the course of the 50-lapper and ultimately retired in the twenty-first position. The #53 team will now turn their focus to a trio of regional events in the Peach State of Georgia from June 26-28. On Friday night, Ray plans to enter a UCRA Series tilt, which pays $2,500 to the winner, at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. A pair of $3,000 to win Super Late Model specials will then wrap up the tripleheader weekend on Saturday evening at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia and on Sunday at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia.
