Dennis Erb, Jr. Lands Pair of Top Fives in Rain Soaked Week
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing had a huge week filled with seven straight UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals shows on their racing calendar from June 22-28, but Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the daily grind and ultimately rained-out four of those lucrative events. However, Dennis Erb, Jr. was able to record a pair of Top Five finishes when races were actually able to escape the death grip of inclement weather last week.
Last Tuesday at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois, Dennis laid down the fastest lap in his group during qualifying and ran second in his heat race. After starting from the outside of the fourth row in the $5,000 to win headliner, Dennis was able to climb up to fourth in the 40-lapper to finish behind only winner Shannon Babb, Bobby Pierce, and Ryan Unzicker. At Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Thursday, the Carpentersville, Illinois star finished second in heat race action prior to advancing up to third in the $5,000 to win feature behind only victor Levi Kissinger and runner-up Wendell Wallace.

Another hectic week awaits the #28 team from July 1-5, as they plan to enter five more high-profile showdowns with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. A trio of LOLMDS events, which will all pay $10,000 to the winner, will be bookended by two $5,000 to win Summer Nationals shows. Dennis comes into the Independence Day holiday weekend sixth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
