“Butterball” Tune-Up Next on the Schedule at Richmond Raceway on Saturday July 11!

Richmond, KY- July 11, 2015- Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are set to return with racing action at the 3/10 mile red clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” this Saturday July 11 as the track will present the “Butterball” Tune-Up event, with the Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models racing for $2,000 to win and a guaranteed starting spot in the 28th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event that takes place on July 18.

Richmond Raceway will present the “Butterball” Tune-Up on Saturday July 11 as the Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models will be racing for $2,000 to win in a 30 lap main event that will see the winner of the race earn a guaranteed starting position in the 28th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event on July 18. Also on the “Butterball” Tune-Up racing card for Saturday July 11 will be Modifieds racing for $800 to win, REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Models racing for $600 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $500 to win, and Four Cylinders racing for $300 to win, while the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclone division will have the night off. For the “Butterball” Tune-Up event, all divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions, except for the Four Cylinder division, as they will draw for heat race starting positions. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and must be used by the driver everytime he/she is on the racing surface in their race car. It is pertinent that all drivers be at the track and signed in by 6:00 p.m.

Also, the “Butterball” Dash to get into the 28th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial on July 18 is somewhat set. This will be for drivers that have won a Super Late Model feature event this season and for the top ten drivers in track points after the July 11 “Butterball” Tune-Up event that have not raced their way into the “Butterball” on July 18 via a heat race or B-Main event as a last chance to make the race. Drivers that are locked into the dash at this point include Victor Lee of Danville, KY, Greg Johnson of Bedford, IN, Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY, and Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY.

Activities for the “Butterball” Tune-Up event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday July 11 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m. Driver’s registration will close promptly at 6:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:00 p.m, with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin around 6:30 p.m., and the green flag for the first race will wave at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the “Butterball” Tune-Up on Saturday July 11 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE. For the pit area, adult prices will be $35, with children ages 6 to 12 costing $15, and children ages five and under FREE. If a driver races in more than one division, that driver has to buy a second pit pass. Also, any driver under the age of 18 will have to have a notorized release signed by both parents before that driver is eligible to compete at Richmond Raceway, due to insurance regulations.
