There's way too many manufactures of similar components out there .... PPM , TWM , BSB, outpace, Whers , and the biggest of call Keyser. Trying to compete against Keyser on manufactured products is a losing proposition unless you want to work for wages

That did not put them out of business is what I have heard, they gave a lot of money to Ray Cook's deal and they have been going down since! Hie can the Southern Nationals be sponsored by Old Mans Garage and they not even in business anymore, make you wonder!

The purpose of giving money to the Ray cook series is advertising to gain market share ... When the market is flooded with quality manufactures it's difficult to gain share unless your cutting prices to the bone ...

Advertising doesn't gain market share in and of itself..........advertising just reminds people that your company exists.

And what's the point of letting them know you exist if not to gain market share ?

Omg makes more than just race parts. I'd say they ran out of their contract with the military and the racing industry didn't pan out like they thought.

To maintain what you may already have as market share.

To let them know of something different that you offer , others don't.

To let them know of any particulars about your business that you don't think gets communicated just by a store visit.

Sometimes people want to keep what they have and just not lose market share, but advertising does VERY LITTLE to gain share if the business or services your advertising aren't competitive or have quality or personel issues.

Omg did not advertise with ray cook for gaining market share( as you suggested) , ........unlike yourself, it runs a little deeper than that.

Ask a business or marketing major what advertising is best used for.................it's unlikely that the term market share will even enter into the conversation.

Too bad that omg is gone though, they were involved in all sorts of racing sponsorship......not just dlm.
