Steven Schnapf Scores Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Win at Chandler Motor Speedway

Chandler, IN- July 17, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked off a doubleheader weekend of racing action with its second visit of the season to Chandler Motor Speedway in Chandler, IN and Steven Schnapf of Evansville, IN would score his first career series victory by taking the lead on the final lap and become the 32nd different driver to win in series history by claiming the $1,500 payday aboard the Edwards Concrete Construction/Lucas Oil Products sponsored #77 Impressive Race Car powered by a SPEC Race Engine.

Tyler Nicely would take the lead at the start of the event and hold the top spot until lap 5 when Josh Harris would take a turn at the point. Harris and Nicely would battle for the lead and Nicely would reclaim the lead on lap 8. However, Steven Schnapf, who started tenth, would methodically work his way toward the front, eventually taking the second position and would work past Nicely on the final lap to score his first ever series victory. Nicely would take runner-up honors, while Josh Harris, Clayton Miller, and Mark Lamont would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Chandler Motor Speedway A-Main would be Lance Foreman, Blaze Melton, Clifford Tooley, Robert Smith, and Will Krup. The 30 lap, $1,500 to win event would be slowed by three caution periods, with one of those resulting in a red flag.

In preliminary action, Tyler Weiss would be the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among a field of 15 entries at 16.410 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Tyler Nicely, while Josh Harris scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two.

The next event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would be at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN on Saturday July 18 and pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.
