Ponderosa Speedway Has the “Junebug” Memorial July 24/Pete Abell Memorial July 25!
Junction City, KY-July 19, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson is set to present a doubleheader of racing action this weekend at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with the 15th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial on Friday July 24 and the 18th Annual Pete Abell Memorial on Saturday July 25.
The 15th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial will go on Friday July 24 and will pay $3,000 to win for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, plus a regular show for all other divisions. The following evening on Saturday July 25 and will again pay $3,000 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, $1,000 to win for Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds, and a regular show for Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models and Four Cylinders, while Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks and Hardees Mini-Cup/Cyclones will have the night off.
Ponderosa Speedway will present the 15th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial on Friday July 24 and will feature Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing for $3,000 to win, plus a full racing program for the Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds ($700 to win), Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models ($600 to win), Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks ($400 to win), and Hardees Mini-Cup/Cyclones ($100 to win). All divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions, except Super Late Models, which will time trial two laps, two cars at a time. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and transponder timing/scoring is used. Drivers will pick up their transponders at the driver registration window and drivers need to be signed in by the time of the drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. There will be a $60 entry fee for Super Late Models and that does include the transponder rental fee.
Activities for the Friday July 24 racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to start at 7:20 p.m., while racing will take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times are Eastern Daylight Times. Tickets prices for the Friday July 24 event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE. A pit pass will be $35.
