By Mike Leone

July 23, 2015 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Erie, PA)...After competing last Sunday in Canada at Humberstone Speedway, the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series returns back to the states this Sunday (July 26) at Eriez Speedway for another Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Northern Touring Series event. Sunday is the fourth annual “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD with some $40,000 in cash and products to be awarded.

Sunday will be the fifth Insinger/Sunoco Northern Tour event of the season and 13th Tour race overall, and while $1,500 will be on the line to win the feature event, most of the attention will be focused around over $30,000 of product that will be given away during intermission to the RUSH racers as part of “Manufacturers Night”! This year will be the fourth annual event with the prior three taking place at Sharon Speedway, Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway, and McKean County Raceway.

The prizes will be done as a random draw with 50 drivers guaranteed to leave with at least one prize valued at over $200 and most with receiving two or even three prizes. Three of the major prizes Sunday include a Yahama Electric Start Generator and Wheel Kit from Alternative Power Sources ($2,200 value), four F3 Tornado Brake Calipers from TBM Brakes ($1,800) value, and a full custom driver’s suit from Velocita-USA ($1,000). Companies such as Beyea Headers, MSD Performance, Jones Racing Products, FK Rod Ends, ARbodies, and K&N have stepped up as Major Contingency Sponsors to offer over $1,500 in prizes for the night. The complete list of prizes to date is posted on the website at www.rushlatemodels.com

“It means so much to both Mike (Leone) and I to have so many nationally recognized product manufacturers support this great event for our racers,” stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig. “To be honest, when I did the first edition of Manufacturers Night several years ago I threw the $10,000 value on the promotion before I had one commitment for a product; to see the night now grow to over $30,000 in valuable posted items is incredible! We can't thank these companies and individuals enough for believing in RUSH and our goals for crate racing into the future. We cherish these relationships and work hard on a daily basis to maintain them as we promote and help market their fine products. We ask all of our racers to please remember these companies as they make choices for their individual race teams. We also have to thank MSD for not only their contribution to this night, but for presenting both the Late Model and Sportsman Modified Manufacturers Nights.”

Max Blair enters the weekend still in control of the $10,000 pot of gold for the sweep of the Bazell/Sunoco Southern Tour, the Insinger/Sunoco Northern Tour, and the Sweeney Combined Late Model Touring Series titles. The Centerville, Pa. driver has yet to finish worse than sixth in any of the point events to date with four victories. Blair leads Bryce Davis by 17 in the Northern Tour, leads Eric Wilson by 64 in the Southern Tour, and ahead of Jason Knowles by 96 in the Combined Tour points heading into the week. The Southern Tour has a make-up feature from July 3 Friday night at Lernerville with Daryl Charlier and John Waters on the front row. Waters is coming off his first Tour win of the season last Sunday at Humberstone. The complete point standings are posted below.

In their first year as a Sweeney RUSH weekly-sanctioned speedway, Eriez has completed seven events averaging 20 cars per event with 42 different drivers participating. Blair has won three of the four events he’s competed in, while Kyle Zimmerman is a two-time winner, and Chad Wright and Ward Schell have each copped a feature event win.

The K&N “Cold Air Induction” Dash will set the two rows after the redraw cars and will award a $100 K&N certificate for first place, $50 K&N certificate for second place, and $25 cash for the third and fourth place finishers. Blair and Steve Lowery are currently tied for the point lead.

Precise Racing Products will award a $100 gift card for the "Pedal Down" Hard Charger that passes the most cars. The TBM Brakes “Tough Brake of the Night” will award three bottles of Xtreme6 Racing Brake Fluid valued at approximately $45 along with a certificate for a discount off any TBM Brakes purchase at each event.

RUSH Officials will choose the "Maxima Performance" Award for a driver that exhibits a performance worthy of such. The winner will receive a free case of either Maxima Semi-Syn High Performance Racing Oil or Maxima Performance Racing Oil of your choice. In addition, the winner will receive one can of SC-1 clear coat, one 16-oz bottle of Maxima Cool-Aide concentrate, one 32-oz quart of Maxima PSF power steering fluid, and a Maxima t-shirt.
