(Carnesville, Georgia) – The FASTRAK Racing Series visited the “high banks” of the 5/16th mile Toccoa Raceway. When it was said and done, hometown favorite #85 Steve Lamance would capture the $2000 payday in the Inaugural Stephen Wragg Memorial race in front of a packed house in a night that saw a wild evening of excitement. The inaugural FASTRAK Grand Nationals $50000 champion from Six Mile, SC simply had it all go his way from the time his car hit the track to the checkers fell.

Bad luck would strike for Lavonia Friday winner and national star #2 Dennis Franklin after tagging the wall hard and having tow out issues sustained on the right front of the Longhorn Chassis. Then after qualifying concluded #8 Ron Parker points leader going into the evening would suffer engine issues after getting time on the clock. In the process #48 of Charlie Walker would wallop the wall hard in turn two ending his night as well. #85 Lamance would be the overall quick car then lock in heat race #2 with Franklin coming back after toe out issues to take heat race #1.

The feature would get underway with Franklin and Lamance battling side by side for the opening laps but “Hot Rod” would not be denied and sail away from the pack opening up from the field. Franklin would try to make a rally to try to close in on Lamance at mid point and try to get by with the help of lap traffic but disaster would strike. The one and only caution of the 40 lap feature on the “high banks” of Toccoa would take place on lap 13 when #34 Jim Madden would plow hard into the outside wall off turn 2. In the process Franklin would have no where to go and collide hard into the driver side of Madden’s damaged car. The winner from Lavonia and 2013 World Champion would sustain toe in issues ending the night causing him to pit giving up the 2nd position.

When the race got back underway #42 Cla Knight who is looking hat and heavy for a FASTRAK touring series victory would charge hard on the outside for the restart and drive deep around #21 Frankie Beard and #187 McCoy and close in on Lamance but couldn’t stop the TNT chassis. Other great battles on the track included #11 Derrick Harvey racing hard with ‪#‎2c‬ Colby Cannon. Lap cars would get into the path of Lamance in the late rally but he wouldn’t be denied taking the $2000 payday and taking the inaugural running of the Stephen Wragg Memorial. Knight gave it all he had with currently his best FASTRAK touring finish at 2nd while Beard, and ironically like last night at Lavonia the men first named David, McCoy and Smith rounded out the Top 5 to close out the evening.

The next event for the FASTRAK Racing Series Southeast Touring Division will be on Labor Day weekend 2015 with the closeout of Summer and the big East Coast Rumble featuring over $60,000+ dollars on the line, there will be full details on that monster dirt extravaganza not to miss to close out summer and approach quicker the “Road to Jamaica Tour” for the World Championship.
