Billy Moyer Notches 800th Career Win Saturday at Lafayette County Speedway!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer recorded his 800th career victory on Saturday evening, August 8 at Lafayette County Speedway in Darlington, Wisconsin! Billy picked up a heat race victory in preliminary action and later started the 'Ralph Fryer Memorial' from the outside of the front row. The Batesville, Arkansas star then outran Chad Simpson, Jason Rauen, Mitch McGrath, and Jason Feger in the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series special to earn the $5,454.54 payday!

A day earlier, the #21 team was in Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series competition on Friday at Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa. Billy also won his heat race and later started the headliner from the pole position. The popular driver known as "Mr. Smooth" then led a bulk of the laps in the $5,000 to win 'Crop Production Services 40' before Chad Simpson slipped by to grab the point with six laps remaining, which dropped Moyer to a strong runner-up performance. Complete results from both CBC battles can be accessed online at www.cornbeltclash.com.

“I would have never believed that we would have 800 wins when I started out racing an old Camaro out of Des Moines, Iowa back in the day,” exclaimed Moyer recently. “It has been a lot of hard work since 1977 and a ton of miles up and down the highways. I am grateful to all of the crew members, car owners, and sponsors that I have had along the way that were instrumental in that success. Hopefully, we still have some more wins ahead of us and it would be nice to keep it rolling this weekend in the Topless 100 at Batesville!”

The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will shoot for win #801 this upcoming weekend (August 14-15) at the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. The 23rd Annual ‘COMP Cams Topless 100’ will be held over the weekend at the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval, which is located just outside of Batesville and a short drive from the #21 race shop. Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap headliner are slated for Saturday evening.

The biggest roofless event in Super Late Model racing once again boasts a hefty $40,000 winner’s check, while each feature starter will receive at least $2,000 for their efforts. Billy is a four-time victor of the ‘Topless 100,’ as he crossed the finish line first back in 1995, 1997, 2002, and 2005. The crown jewel extravaganza will once again be taped by the cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast later in the year on MavTV and NBC Sports Network.
