WAYCROSS, GA (August 17, 2015) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will invade Tennessee and Indiana next week. The series will converge on Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Thursday, August 20th before heading to Lawrenceburg Speedway, in Lawrenceburg, IN on Saturday, August 22nd. Both events include an action-packed program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000 to-win main event.

Volunteer Speedway (located just off I-81 at exit 23) is just a short drive from Bristol Motor Speedway. The 12th Annual “Scorcher” is ran annually (in conjunction with the NASCAR weekend) at the historic East Tennessee venue. The nation’s top dirt late model drivers will tackle the high-banked, 4/10-mile oval against a strong contingent of local and regional standouts. Dale McDowell will return as the defending race winner, after he charged to the victory in 2014 over Mike Marlar, John Blankenship, Scott Bloomquist, and Jared Landers. The Modified Street division will also be in action on Thursday, August 20th.

Further information can be obtained by visiting www.volunteerspeedway.com or calling the Speedway Office at (423) 235-5020.

Following a brief break in the action, the LOLMDS will travel to Lawrenceburg Speedway for the annual “Whiskey City 50” - Presented by Sign-A-Rama. In 2014, Don O’Neal became the only repeat winner of the event, claiming the win over his Clint Bowyer Racing teammate, Steve Francis. Scott Bloomquist, Steve Casebolt, and Earl Pearson Jr. rounded out the top five. Also on the racing program for Saturday, August 22nd are the Budweiser UMP Modifieds.

The award-winning Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to tape all the action from the “Whiskey City 50” with multiple camera angles, driver interviews, on-board cameras, and various technical segments. The event will air on MAVTV Motorsports Network and NBC Sports Network at a later date, in 2015.
