Ray Cook Racing Set to Invade Ponderosa Speedway for John Bradshaw Memorial

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and his #53 team returned to competition on Saturday evening, August 15 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series rolled into the Knoxville-area to sanction a $5,000 to win program. Ray clicked off the eighth quickest lap during the qualifying session to earn the outside of the fourth row for the start of the A-Main.

The popular driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" then blasted all the way up to the second spot and appeared prime for a runner-up effort. However, driveline issues late in the distance caused him to retire in the ninth position. Complete results from Smoky Mountain can be accessed online at www.carolinaclash.com.

The Ray Cook Racing team will now turn their focus to the 12th Annual ‘John Bradshaw Memorial’ on Friday night, August 21 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will roar into the Commonwealth of Kentucky tomorrow to preside over the high-profile, single-day showdown, which boasts a hefty $15,012 payday. On Saturday, Ray will return back home to oversee his Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina, as the 3rd edition of the ‘Tarheel Nationals Go Cart Championships’ will take place at the 1/4-mile bullring. Additional information concerning Friday’s program at Ponderosa can be located online at www.ultimatesupers.com.
