Rodney Sanders Extends USMTS Hunt Lead with Lakeside Victory

Happy, Texas (08/26/15) – Rodney Sanders claimed his second Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) victory of the season in his Swan Energy #20 MB Customs/Geddes Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified with a $3,500 triumph on Friday evening at Lakeside Speedway.

Rodney Sanders made the trip to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday for the next round of the Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup. Drawing a field of thirty-five cars, Sanders scored a 3rd place finish in his heat, transferring him into the A-Main. With $3,500 on the line, Rodney charged from his 11th place starting spot to capture his 22nd victory of the season. Ousting Jason Krohn, Johnny Scott, Stormy Scott, and Shad Badder, Rodney Sanders improved ten spots in the 35-lap feature.

“This was a big night for our team because not only did we get the win, but we were able to stretch our advantage atop the standings,” said Sanders. “Hats off to my team for giving me a great car each and every night, and special thanks goes to my sponsors, who help make this happen.”
Sunday night’s event at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) fell victim to rain and will not be rescheduled.

With the win Rodney extended his advantage atop the latest USMTS Hunt of the Casey's Cup standings as he pursues his third-straight, series title. For more results from these events, please visit www.USMTS.com.
