Billy Moyer Jr. Breaks Out the Broom with SAS at KLMS

Batesville, Arkansas (08/31/15) – Billy Moyer Jr. executed a clean sweep of the weekend’s Southern All Star Late Model Series events at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in his Crop Production Services #21jr Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model with back-to-back wins.

Billy Moyer Jr traveled to Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) on Thursday for the Mid America Racing Series (MARS) sanctioned, USA World 50. In a field of 24 Super Late Models, Moyer followed up his fastest time in qualifications with a heat race victory. Starting on the pole for the $5,000-to-win, A-Main, Billy pulled off on lap 30, while running 2nd with an overheating motor. He was credited with a 10th place finish.

On Friday night Billy headed to Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway (Calvert City, Kentucky) for the two-day show, which was sanctioned by the Southern All Star Series. With twenty-seven Super Late Models signed in for the $4,000-to-win, A-Main, Moyer Jr. earned the 5th place starting spot for the feature. Battling with Ashley Newman for the lead early in the event, Billy brought home his sixth victory of the season with Newman, Riley Hickman, Brandon Kinzer, and Dylan Ames completing the top five.

Wrapping up the busy weekend, Moyer Jr. laid down the fast time in a field of twenty-four Super Late Models on Saturday evening at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. Earning the 2nd place starting spot for the feature, Billy had his eyes on his fourth victory in the month of August. Jumping into the lead on the first lap, Billy Moyer Jr. cruised all 50-laps to his 7th win on the season, with Dane Dacus, Dylan Ames, Riley Hickman, and Ashley Newman trailing him to the finish line. Sweeping the first-ever SAS doubleheader weekend at KLMS, Moyer Jr. bagged a $5,000 payday plus a $1,000 bonus for the dominating weekend performance.

“Wow, this was just an incredible weekend,” said Moyer Jr. “I hated to not get the runner-up finish at Paducah due to mechanical issues, but the clean sweep of Kentucky Lake definitely erased all the pain.”
