Pennsboro speedway update

We are clearing another three acres of land on the hillside for more terraced seating and will soon be benching the lower part of the hill for our new bleachers we bought from the old St. Marys high school which will seat over 4,000 people. Also working with a local concrete company to put a wall around the inside and outside of the speedway. Nothing final yet but a good chance this will happen. A new mini wedge and go cart track has been built on the inside of the big track and it is shaped just like the big track. We are calling it "Little Pennsboro" We have also built the first of two permanent foot bridges across the creek. After the races this weekend we will get back to building our first new restroom and shower. We put this on hold because of all the events we have had this summer and all help is volunteer. Auction this Saturday morning Oct. 10th. and at noon will be our mini wedge races paying $500.00 to win for the 5 to 9 age class and $500.00 to win for the 10 to 14 age class. Over $3000.00 total purse .WRA rules. Plus 6 foot trophys for both classes. If you would like to come out Saturday bring a lawn chair because we only have a small amount of bleacher seating for now. Admission price is $2.00 per person including pits.
