Check out the info below and also alternate plan for Fri. if it happens to rain! And we'll see you at "The Pond"! Press release by Michael Despain: Ponderosa Speedway Announces “Plan B” for Fall Classic Friday in Case of Inclement Weather Junction City, KY-October 7, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson wants to announce what his “Plan B” will be for this weekend’s 25th Annual Fall Classic scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday October 8, 9, and 10 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”. With a projected forecast of possible rain showers at times on Friday October 9, the track wanted to announce its alternative plan if Friday’s event were to be postponed due to inclement weather. “First off, I want to assure everyone that we will try our very best to get the Friday portion of the program complete if the weather allows”, stated Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson. “With the forecast giving a chance of rain at times during the day on Friday, we just want to have a standby plan in place so the race teams and race fans will know what is going on”, added Denson. “But for now, we are on schedule to proceed with events as they have been scheduled all along, with open practice on Thursday (October 8), time trials and heats on Friday (October 9), and B-Mains and feature events on Saturday (October 10)’, concluded Denson. If the Friday portion of the Fall Classic event were to be postponed due to inclement weather, the track will do a split-session program and run the entire program on Saturday October 10. Gates would open at 8:00 a.m. and driver registration would also open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday October 10. The drivers meeting would take place at 10:30 a.m., with practice laps set to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Upon the conclusion of the program on Saturday afternoon, the general admission area would be cleared and reopened approximately one hour after it has been cleared and track personnel would rework the track’s racing surface during this time as well, and would attempt to get the scheduled Saturday evening portion of the program started by 7:30 p.m., beginning with B-Main, followed by the A-Mains in all divisions. If race teams or race fans only purchased a one-day pass, they would have to pay for Saturday to re-enter the general admission or pit area. If race teams and race fans have a two-day, they will be good to go just as if the program were Friday/Saturday like originally scheduled. If individuals only want to come for the Saturday night portion of the program, they would have the Saturday night general admission and/or pit pass price. The Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Collins Signs will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the weekend’s racing activities, culminating with the 25th Annual Fall Classic that will be 100 laps in distance and pay a track-record $25,000 to win in a 100 lap main event. Also in competition during the weekend will be the track’s Sweet Beans and Things Modified division, which will race for $5,000 to win in a 40 lap main event. The Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Model division will also compete for $2,500 to win in a 40 lap main event and the Lawson Tractor Sales KDRA Super Stocks will compete for $2,000 to win in the 30 lap Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial during the Fall Classic weekend.
