Maybe I'm seeing it wrong but JD has 16 first place votes and Bloomer has 8. Wouldn't JD then be ranked #1?

I think they use overall points rather than first place votes. IE: They probably have a worksheet or similar that has 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, etc. etc. and 1st = 25, 2nd = 24, etc.

For some reason it just probably means that the people who didn't vote for Davenport for first didn't have him in second or third either whereas those who voted Davenport for first had Bloomer in second or third, etc.
