Anyone have any input on what a good starter tubing bender would be? Obviously a powered one would be nice, but they come with a price tag. Looking to spend a grand or less and have the ability to bend tubing up to .120. I've looked at plans on the internet to build your own bender as well, but I was just looking for any input anyone had

I use the electric hydraulic version of this JMR, it is a bit higher quality than the others and the price reflects that, but it has been flawless and will probably outlive your grandchildren. JD2 and ez bend will get the job done also, but I am really impressed with the quality of the JMR.

Lots of ways to bend tubing. I got this Greenlee shoe and follow bar from Ebay for 40.00. Fabbed a roller for the follow bar to slide on and a mount for the shoe and it bends a perfect radius. Makes flawless bumpers every time!

There are tons of benders to view on youtube... some better than others.

I just picked up and EZ Bend 90. Got my own pump.
building a new cage on a dune buggy, it bends well so far. I like it.
I have used an electric ones before and it bends every bit as good as the more expensive ones I have used.
I did de-burr /smoothed the arches in the dies a bit. j

The JD2 model 3 is relatively economical. I have the 32 that I have done a good amount of tube work for off road fab stuff.

We got the $399 bender from speedway motors http://www.speedwaymotors.com/3rd-Gen-Hydraulic-Round-Tubing-Bender-and-1-Die-Set,6614.html and then switched it to air over hydraulic...i think were about $850 into it with 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" dies

I have a Pro-Tools bender. I converted it to air over hydraulic some years back. Same as JD2 bender. Billet steel dies are about $200 each. Very nice bender.
