What size tires and wheels are ran. Does a late model run wider tires and wheels on the right side. A smaller tire and wheels on a LR. And smaller on LF like the go karts do or is everything the same size all the way around?

Usually everybody runs 3 the same size and a bigger RR to get your stagger

The norm is a 15x14 wheel 5in. offset on all for corners. Tires will vary on driver preference, but most builder recommend 1/2" to 1" front stagger ( RF bigger) and 4-5" of rear stagger (RR bigger). Your RR tire will be the biggest usually marked 29 or 92 depending the tire type. There are several different size combination you can run tire size wise, but that is the basics. Hope it was some help

Any reason to run 90's up front rather than 88's?

bigger sidewall makes a little more forgiving in the slick.
at least that is what I seem to remember.
also a bit more ground clearance for cross member and frame rail

Dumb question from another rookie: do they make 90s with the steering tread or do you guys just run normal tread up front too?

The cross block pattern which is what u are referring to (I think) is only available in a 28.5 size from Hoosier. Not sure about American Racer. Go to Hoosier.com for lots of info.

That's what I was thinking Krooser but wasn't sure

Another question, lots of tracks will give a rule the tire cant punch below a 56 or you only get one lap of qualify Tazewell speedway for example. How low of a compound do you have to go to reach a 56?

Typically for that kind of rule, I just run a Hoosier 1600 or D55... I think the American Racer equivalent would be an AR56.
