I am currently running a metric chassis with tubular uppers and nova lowers and leaf spring rear, and was looking for some advice on shock selection. I do NOT have to run stock mounted shocks. the car weighs roughly 3000 lbs. to get the %'s I need RF spring 1050 LF 950 RR 200 LR 225 the track is a medium banked 3/8 clay oval

5rebound/3compression on the front.4r/2c or a 208r/72c linear for r/r ,4r/2c or 4/4 for l/r

wow that seems really soft to me??? I was thinking more along the lines of 5/3 LF 6/3 RF 3/5 LR and a straight 5 valve or a 5/3 on the RR

Confused?

You can use softer shocks when the track is smooth. Stiffer shocks slow down the weight transfer. The softer ones would allow the weight to transfer faster thus sticking the tires sooner. I would start with the softer set listed above.

What brand of shocks are you using?

I have ran PRO in the past but I am leaning towards Integra or QA1. I will more than likely stay with a twin tube

Different brands of shocks are rated differently.A bilstein will be rated at 50/30 and it will dyno at that. Both pro and qa1 that I have dynod will be rated at a 5 like it is a staight valve, but it will dyno with more rebound than compression.Check if what ever brand you go with are linear or digressive and can you get them in either. In gives you 1 more tuning option.
