Dear Fellow Promoter and racers,

We are excited to announce the REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES based out of Morgantown, WV!

The REVOLUTION concept is planned with the out-of-control tire bills dirt racing teams are experiencing on a weekly basis. After speaking with HUNDREDS of dirt racing teams throughout the tri-state area over the winter, the biggest concern for the weekly and regional super late racer was tire expense.

With that in mind, we have decided to create a regional super late series that will DRASTICALLY cut tire expenses by utilizing a spec compound rule of Hoosier 1600 on right rear, 1350 all other corners.

PERIOD.

Those are harder compounds which will have much longer life saving the racers money. They will know EXACTLY which tires to race with at each event, eliminating the scores of tires normally necessary to be competitive. Also, we believe this will allow the weekend warrior who doesn't have top-tier horsepower to compete as well as the CT525 sealed crate engines, steel block engines etc. since the hard compound on the right rear will limit grip.

So, we have proposed an ideal way where the weekly racer can compete regionally for a good purse without spending thousands on race tires. A program where the race winner isn't decided by money and horsepower alone. This is going to require the winner to drive straight, keep the car under him and a little finesse with that right foot...just like back in the good old days of dirt track racing.

We have included an attachment of proposed purse structures. You will notice we are not necessarily interested in the Dolly Parton-type purse structures. The traveling racer is more concerned with start money than top heavy winners share.

REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES is a brand new regional touring series. We understand
we have to prove ourselves to some degree. We are very confident that this series and its rules, particularly tire rules, is rooted in sound financial principles-- taking away, for competitions sake, the huge advantages those with unlimited tire budgets and unlimited horsepower has over the weekend warrior. As a promoter, ask yourself this?---how many of your loyal locals attempted to qualify for the big race at your last nationally sanctioned event? Or worse, how many qualified? As the years go by, less and less locals show up for bigger races because they can't afford to buy “their” tires and they know they can't compete.

Can a spec tire rule save the racers money, boost car counts at your bigger shows and put more butts in the stands? We feel confident the answer is YES! And we are basing this on months of conversations with local racers who travel off-and-on and simple arithmatic, from a racers point-of-view.

As a former car owner, I am well aware the dreaded tire bill. But we can change this issue.

Now. Before we price our super lates right out of business.

Do you have the courage to think outside the box?

Please contact me, preferably by email at your convenience to book dates for the 2016 season.
Racers, we'd love to hear from you, too.

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

Would u guys let lm 40s go if some of us ump guys wanted to come over

Why 1350s? Nobody runs those tires in that area. Wouldn't 1300s make more sense. Every racer on the the east coast has a set of 1300s laying around

Good question, Drop Shock. After input from the racers we spoke with, keeping season-long spending at the forefront, while most had 1300's lying around, the 1350 will last much longer and level the playing field.

Your list of states covers a very broad area and you may run into trouble with steering. Why not follow Lucas rules for using the same Front/LR for all prelim races leading up to the Amain and then possibly allow 2 new rears? Are you using Time Trials?

Why a hard spec tire rule?
--Drastically cuts tire bill
--Car count increase at series events because horsepower
isn't as important if you can't put it to the ground.
--Puts driver back in charge of winning races.
--Minimize "around the bottom"and locked-down tracks
--Side-by-side-racing...remember that?

So no lm 40s then ur close enough to some ump tracks but they would have to uy new tires to run

What tracks are going to do that

Running 1350s and 1600 in that part of the country will ensure that cars are skating around the track with little grip. That is all fine and dandy if your competitors actually are running those tires. You may find that very difficult to ensure.

I know this is new, but do you have any committed drivers and/or tracks yet?

Wish you the best.

it is hard to beat new tires. good race teams will still spend the money for new tires in a race. then they end up buying more tires to race other places that don't have them rules so how does this save race teams money???????

****UPDATE RULES INFO***

After a lot of further debate the decision has been made for this tire rule:

1600 right rear
1325 rf
1325 lr
Open lf

We want to make it as easy as possible to race with us yet not make it so you have to carry 20 tires to do so.
We are also VERY concerned about keeping costs down. After much discussion and debate, the rules above will stand.

Thanks to those car owners, racers and promoters who spoke with us last night. It is exactly because of conversations like that that took place last night why we can make REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series successful.

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

Are you all working with the UFO, App speedweek, the new stars series , buckeyre speedweek to avoid scheduling conflicts? I cant really see where there is much room for another new series. I like the idea though just seems drivers will be spread thin.

Jimmy Henry

Good questions, WVRACEFAN. With Appalachian,STARS and Buckeye being more of a speedweek, rather than series-type format, scheduling shouldn't be much of an issue. And of course,we will work with UFo Series on scheduling as well. My guess is,we will be offering a little different entertainment package than other series. With our spec tire rules,we feel strongly that it will produce a very different level of competition and you may see faces in victory lane you perhaps wouldn't necessarily expect to at a regional series level.

What's your name?

I suppose you are approving only Hoosier tires ? Or are American racer and Goodyear equivalents ok ? Is your open tire truly "open" ? Are you going to be actually testing the tires for compound or just going by stamping ?

Since the rules are being written by the racers and car owners, they may likely change more before a final decision is made...these are suggestion by them, not me.

This is their series, not mine.

You have to ignore the ignorant people on this board Jimmy, I wish you the best of luck and I personally think its a great idea having a regional tour in our area. The MACS series was great when it was alive. I miss seeing those types of shows.

i appologize for thinking that the way you stated the ttre rule in your initial post it meant that all the talking had been done and that the tire rules were set .............period !!! I guess it was my bad not yours !!!!!! So are ar and goodyear equivalents allowed ?

Jimmy Henry

For this year Goodyear isn't being considered but American Racer is. If the drivers want it,then AR compound equivalents will be...and thank you for the apology.

Sounds good Jimmy. Racing needs this so bad right now. I think I'd go no grooving and siping on that 1600 also.
