we are looking at possibly picking up an older late model to run some laps this year.

our budget puts us at looking at 08-10 year cars based on what we are seeing. in our area most of the cars seem to be Rockets or Mastersbilt. not stuck on those but they are the most available.

looking for some general positives or negatives and what differences are between cars that might make them better or worse. what makes someone buy one vs. the other.

thanks in advance.

No offense, but with cars that old, just get the one that hasn't seen significant time outdoors. One that doesn't have pop rivet holes in many of the tubes. Rust is your biggest enemy. And it starts on the inside.

Be safe.

i bought a 2010 rocket a few months ago, got a great deal. doesn't have the updated / raised cross member but everything else is just like what they build now.

haven't run the car yet but i'm very optimistic for 2016 season.

That should be a pretty good car. If you don't plan to raise the crossmember, get a set of the spindles that raises the front of the car.
