Ok I know this has probably been posted a hundred times but... I put together a new car and need to know what shocks to use its a 79 monte Carlo has to weigh 3200lbs and stock mount shocks. I will primarily be racing in a 3/8ths oval with pretty steep banking (paragon speedway) just need to know what valving and brand shocks I should get or work best thanks in advance guys

wide ranging question but...

there are a ton of options. Do you want to spend $200 or $2000? Any of the major shock companies make good stuff. Basic twin tubes like the Afco and Pros, mid range Bilsteins or QA1, or upper end stuff like Integras.

All of these companies have set up charts you can use to get started.

There are also a lot of guys doing custom work that is really good but expensive.

Pure stock or bomber?

Paragon has open rule pretty well for bomber class, that means $$$$ however many you want to spend.

Pure stock is going to limit your choices to stock mount. Afco, bilstien, or QA1 pretty much.

Probably stick with stock mount so I can race other tracks
