Got one of these kits, the 2041-RA.
It is a 70 amp miniature alternator kit.
It comes with a switch, that says you need to use to disconnect from the battery when charging.
Is this only for high amperage charging? If I only ever use a trickle charger (max 4 amps), do I really need to wire this switch in and use it?
I assume it is to protect the brushes/commutator in the alt, but don't know.
