Well, this is a post I sure didn't want to make... Pelican 100 claimed by Mother Nature two years in a row.

The track itself received 11 inches of rain this week. It'll be a while before the property is suitable for a race. South of Shreveport got 14 inches, Barksdale AFB in Bossier City got 18 inches and places near Monroe got over 20 inches if you can believe that. Record floods in the area and just too many people affected including some track employees. Given that, we feel it's best to cancel now and hope for better weather in April and May.

This photo taken today is the bridge over the bayou just west of the track: http://www.facebook.com/211681355569776/photos/a.214264608644784.53870.211681355569776/1009583079112929/?type=3

Ark-La-Tex Speedway's next event will be Zero Prostate Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, April 2nd. Details TBA.

Horrible luck weather-wise for this event, every year it seems. Crazy that it had been perfect for racing four weekends in a row for the USMTS swing, and then last weekend things took a real turn for the worst. Sorry to hear that the race is cancelled, but certainly is understandable.
