Well, this is a post I sure didn't want to make... Pelican 100 claimed by Mother Nature two years in a row.
The track itself received 11 inches of rain this week. It'll be a while before the property is suitable for a race. South of Shreveport got 14 inches, Barksdale AFB in Bossier City got 18 inches and places near Monroe got over 20 inches if you can believe that. Record floods in the area and just too many people affected including some track employees. Given that, we feel it's best to cancel now and hope for better weather in April and May.
This photo taken today is the bridge over the bayou just west of the track: http://www.facebook.com/211681355569776/photos/a.214264608644784.53870.211681355569776/1009583079112929/?type=3
Ark-La-Tex Speedway's next event will be Zero Prostate Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, April 2nd. Details TBA.
