OneMain Financial Challenge Series Invades Northland*For Immediate Release*Superior, Wisconsin (Thursday, March 17, 2016) The OneMain Financial Challenge Series is set to invade the Northland Friday, July 29th through Sunday, July 31st. The weekend is set to begin at the Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN on Friday, July 29th, this will be the first visit from the Challenge Series to Proctor since the 2006 season. This event is brought to you in part by Powers& Associates Optometrists looking to bring a mid-season Late Model special to the Proctor Speedway. The event will start the 3-day weekend off with a $2,000 to win $200 to start 25 car field event up on the hill in Proctor. On Saturday, July 30th the OneMain Financial Challenge Series looks to make its first venture to the Rice Lake Speedway since 2008. Late Models were a part of the weekly program at Rice Lake until the conclusion of the 2008 season. The Late Model class last raced an event at Rice Lake in 2012 but, not part of the Challenge Series, the event had 14 cars and Mike Prochnow won the main event. Rice Lake looks to continue the weekend with another $2,000 to win $200 to start event leading up to Sundays Twin 25’s at the AMSOIL Speedway. The weekend will then end at the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, WI for the 12th Anniversary of the AMSOIL Twin Ports Twin 25’s. An event created back in 2005 by Dr. Troy Powers for the Proctor Speedway, the event eventually moved to the fitting “AMSOIL Speedway” in 2012. The Twin 25’s will end the weekend with two 25 lap main events for the Late Models paying a possible $4,000 to win and and $400 to start main event. The AMSOIL Twin Ports Twin 25’s remains the highest paying single day Late Model show in WISSOTA. With a combined total payout exceeding $50,000, the weekend is set to be one of the best weekends in WISSOTA Late Model racing. Competitors from all around the region are expected to be in attendance at least one of the three nights.Jonathan M. Powers
