Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by DirtonDirt.com “Guaranteed Qualifier Shoot-out” on tap this Easter Weekend at Williams Grove and Hagerstown Speedways.

The Super Late Models take center stage this coming Holiday Weekend as Williams Grove & Hagerstown Speedways in conjunction with Ernie D’s Enterprises and K.R.S. Graphics present the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by DirtonDirt.com shootout. Both nights will see the Late Model winner take home $2,000 along with an added bonus. The winner of both features will receive a guaranteed starting spot for a race in this year’s 8th annual K.R.S. Graphics Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by Dirt on Dirt. The March 25th Williams Grove Feature winner will be a guaranteed starter in the Sunday, June 5th Path Valley Speedway Speedweek Dirt Late Model Spectacular, followed up the next night on March 26th with the Hagerstown winner receiving a guaranteed starting spot in their own June 10th, $5,000 to win Speedweek race.

The added bonus doesn’t stop with the drivers as Speedweek presenting sponsor DirtonDirt.com will give a fan each night a free 6 month subscription to the premier on-line Dirt Late Model interactive site. The affordable subscription-driven web site specializes in Late Models 24 hours a day, seven days a week, featuring stories, videos, photographs and insight that you will not find anywhere else. The site is updated every day with the latest news and results. DirtonDirt.com’s driver interviews, both local and national are second to none as well as their very affordable PPV services that allow you to view marquee races all over the country from the comfort of your own home.

This is the 2nd straight year that the two premier tracks have worked together in an effort to promote the sport. Last year’s Speedweek qualifiers were won by Nick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son (Williams Grove) and Rick Eckert (Hagerstown). Both half mile speedways are early in their season, with Williams Grove hosting a 410 Sprint Car/Late Model double header this past weekend for their 77th Opening Weekend. Both classes provided very exciting racing with the late model feature having a great side by side battle between 2013 Speedweek Champion Gregg Satterlee who eventually bested former NFL player Rick Singleton in a battle down to the wire. Unfortunately, Hagerstown’s opener set for the following day, fell victim to the weather. The great news is everyone can attend this Saturday’s Hagerstown Speedway opener which includes a huge Easter egg hunt for kids 11 and under prior to the start of the evenings racing activities. Pizza and snacks will also be served to kids after the hunt.

“I think it is a great thing when the tracks work together. It is just so much better for both the fans and drivers” said Hagerstown Speedway General Manager Keya Davis. “It worked out well for both tracks last year and with it being Easter weekend it adds holiday flair to it this year. The Easter egg hunt we do for the kids is so fun to plan. We will be hiding 1000 eggs so there is plenty for all the kids. On top of that you add 5 divisions of great racing later in the evening and it makes for a great family night at the speedway” added Davis.

“We really want to thank both Hagerstown and Williams Grove in conjunction with Path Valley for having these races” stated Speedweek co-promoter Jason Clapper. “It is pretty neat to see Ernie, Keya, Kurt & Justin (Loh) pull together to add a little extra incentive to the weekend. Also a big thanks to John Winsett and Path Valley Speedway for hosting the Williams Grove guaranteed starter. I know Kurt & I are really excited for all 7 speedweek races this year. We want to provide the speedways, drivers and fans a great week of racing this June” said Clapper.
