David “Bad Boy” McCoy takes the FASTRAK win, Cannon takes point lead!
In what ended up with fireworks on and off the track David “Bad Boy McCoy” took home his first FASTRAK touring event win in over two years. McCoy was quoted after the event “man do you realize it has taken two years to win another FASTRAK event? These guys are tough to beat”.
Local driver Rusty Jordan in his black 5 car took the honors of fast time home and looked to be the man to beat only to have some unfortunate luck happen early on in the heat race.
Colby Cannon in his newly paint schemed yellow 2c came in 2nd place and also took over the FASTRAK SE Points lead from 2015 Champion Ron Parker. Parker fell out of the event later in the evening after an incident with another car.
Cla Night in his black 42 had a good evening running toward the front of the pack all night long after winning the rookie of his rookie of the year title in 2015. Knight is looking to be more than competitive in 2016 if he keeps up this pace. Could it be his year to win the title? Could it be Canons? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure. This is going to be a season to remember and what a treat for the fans.
Next event: Virginia Motor Speedway – National event - $3000 to win – Saturday April 9th.
