How much travel?

How much travel should you be getting on 5th arm? I looked at my indicator and Im almost bottoming it out. Have a 300lb spring about 35" out on a crate car. Thinking about going to 325 spring.

3-4 inches is usually about right. Too much travel and think about what is happening to the vertical location of the j-bar pinion mount.
