CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 schedule of events will see ten races in seven states with two tracks hosting their season opener on Friday night. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS will go into Week 4 competition in the National point lead for the second straight week.

Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS will open their 2016 seasons this Friday night with NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model competition. Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, TX and Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will also be in action this Friday night.

Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will host Round 2 of the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series that will highlight Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model competition. Cody Smith of Holt, FL will be looking for his second NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series win.

Battleground Race Park in Highland, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will also present NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 races.

Robbie Starnes of Baytown, TX trails Lee in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings by just three points. Lee has 147 points to 144 points for Starnes. Tootie Arnold of Meadeville, MS is third in the standings with 140 points, while Bryan Foy of Lacombe, LA and Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS are tied for the fourth spot with 137 points apiece.

Hunter Lewis of Moss Point, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 133 points and Nick Gaines of Pearl River, LA is seventh with 126 points. The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is eighth with 125 points.

The 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is ninth in the standings with 100 points, and is undefeated in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series 2016 competition. Washington has won three straight races, and will be looking for number four this weekend.

Scott Dedwylder of Vossburg, MS and Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings after the first three weeks of competition with 98 points apiece.

Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season that runs through September 25. The $20,000 National point fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors have the option of two different economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines to compete with. The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine costs $5,795 and the steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine with a 100-pound weight break costs $3,495.
