Not arguing the changing of spoilers and weights per-say, that's another argument but these don't make sense:

1. So you have to weigh 100# more to run an all steel open motor over an open all aluminum engine???
2. the 362 CID Spec engines and open engine is same everything now?
3. You get a 50# weight break to run aluminum head on the steal block over all steel engine????
4. Make your spec engine not spec anymore and get a 50# weight break??????

Hope this is some sort of misprint, LMAO

Seems it'd be easier to just say all engine combo's 2300 with 8" spoilers but 525 crate gets 50# break and 604 gets 100# break and 12" spoiler.

I'll wager there will be a "Technical Bulletin #3 Version 2.0" coming soon. That weight makes no sense at all.

Not saying it cant be done, but Ive never been able to get a dlm down to 2200lbs with correct %'s.

It takes work, but I've had several cars at 2150 with correct %'s and added lead to make weight. Most were SAS cars with the spec engine when the min was 2150, and several others closer to 2200#

Was that a standard car with standard bolt ons or did you have Pee Wee Herman for a driver? lol

Drivers where in the 170 to 185# range, your not going to do 2150 or probably 2200 with a heavier frame like say a STD rocket. Our frames were 274# bare with out bumpers and our bumpers where lighter then most STD bumpers on cars because they make them out of cheap tubing so they are thicker then needed. The aluminum bumpers suck, but you can make good steel ones with good tubing where they are lighter and hold up pretty decent. I think we saved another 18# over Std type bumpers on all 3, been too long to remember.

Engine weight is also big and takes some work. It's the 1600 ways to remove an ounce that gets you there not the couple ways to remove a pound, lol.

I figured you had a few "tricks" to get one that lite. I knew a local asphalt racer that always ordered his cars out of 063 chromoly from one of the national builders. I wonder if any of these dirt builders will build one out of that!

SAS is shooting theirself in the foot.Anyone who has a spec motor with the same spoiler as an open motor might as well stay home.Looks like they are weeding out the little guys.
