In the rumor department I've been hearing they intend to cover the track in Clay and rrun the woo sprints and lates on June 29th and 30th.

Deerys own it so it does make some sense. Their schedule does say major motorsports announcement for those dates.

Been to numerous World Famous Figure 8 trailer races @ Rockford. If you've never seen one, it's a must do at least once. Ole Caterpillar Miller is hard to beat at Rockford.

WOO sprints draw a different crowd than late models. The 1/2 mile at Davenport always seemed to draw a much bigger crowd for WOO sprints than any touring LM series.

WOO sprints draw a different crowd than late models. The 1/2 mile at Davenport always seemed to draw a much bigger crowd for WOO sprints than any touring LM series. That is exactly what happened at Elko, Minnesota, a few years ago. Night 1 of a 2-day special event they ran WoO sprints and drew a record crowd for the track of over 5000. Night 2 was a Corn Belt Clash show that drew maybe 200 fans.

I would assume they wouldn't run WoO late models against the summernationals an hour down the road at lasalle on Thursday June 30. If they were running both I suspect it would be lates 29 and sprints 30.

Supppsedly this event is less than 2 months away and during the week. And outside of it being rumored on a message board. There isn't one thing in print.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for this happening in 2016.

Hell Tour is part of WRG. Sounds like it was a coordinated effort to do something cool for the new series sponsor. I'd imagine some favor would be done for LaSalle down the line. Maybe this type of show could find a permanent home there in future years.

This article came as part of a National Speed Sport News teaser e-mail. Looks like both the WoO sprint cars and the WoO dirt late models will be racing on consecutive nights.

We're not a huge winged sprint car fan but we'll be at Rockford for both shows!!

When I saw the original post for this thread I thought "Yeah right! Why don't they just build a dome over the track while they're at it and race in December." Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought this would come to fruition. Good for them and racing in our area!
