I'm hoping he finds a different ride next year. Has anyone won a big race this year while driving a BWRC? I'm glad I didn't go to LaSalle to see Jimmie run that bad, saved me $100.00.

Devin Moran has a few wins this year in a BWRC. Who actually owns Owen's car this year, maybe there isn't the money behind the ride like he has had in the past?

zyoung25
05-22-2016, 01:36 PM
The car belongs to Barry, I THINK. The R&W you see on the hood is, Ramirez and Weeder. Derek Ramirez and his old man Leon run a mod usmts mod deal, and are into the oil field I believe. The W is for Tommy Weeder Jr. Runs both mods and late models in the midwest. I believe he's in tight with a big motel chain in his home state of Oklahoma. They're just the money behind the whole deal I believe.

I still say jimmy was at his best in a bloomer car for whatever reason.

No doubt.....A friend of mine had a Bloomquist car and decided to pay Jimmy a visit to his shop. When he walked in, Jimmy was working on the shock dyno. My friend said he immediately grabbed a towel and threw it over the shock he was dynoing. He said he could tell that Jimmy didn't want anyone to see what he was working on.

He definitely had some type of advantage in that Bloomer car.

Tell me if I'm wrong but.... From the way I count it, the last year (2013) he was in a Bloomquist car he won less races with Lucas and overall and most were before Aug. Thats vs the 1st year he got in his Club29 and that to me was capped off with the USA Nats and the Topless. His primary sponsor running out of money basically at the start of 2015 didn't help at all. Sticking your hand out for free stuff comes to a stop. You have to spend money to test as well as pay to keep all your equipment running throughout the year. When you don't have it, your entire operation goes down. Nobody had a good year except for JD. The only national driver I see that came close was Bloomer. The last 3 and a half years he has been better in Club29.

I also believe he needs to shop around with other companies. Seems like hes had the same manufactures since he started. Hes changed chassis maybe he needs a new shock company etc.

He also switched engine builder's this year. I'm sure that has had somewhat of a negative effect.. He ran Cornett engines for quite awhile, and had a lot of success.. It's just kind of sad to see him struggling so much. I know we got spoiled for several years and all good things come to an end at some point. But I never expected him to be this bad.

I don't know what's going with jimmy.. maybe it is the car he is in, he don't know it that great this his first year in it. But it's seems like after the Knoxville wreck he hast been the same really.. he doesn't improve by end of the year, he need get bloomquisthe car or get longhorn or rocket I think them chassis fit his style of racing. The club 29 is a better fit than this bw car. But the main key is fox to me, them two are like jd and Kevin when they are together putting the piece together to have best car on the track at the end of the race.

Not to be contrary, but a few of the usual suspects have been off this weekend. AJ Diemel beat the tour regulars one night at Osh Kosh. And I can count on one hand how many times I've seen a race where two HOF drivers(Bloomquist/Moyer) got lapped in the same race. So quite a few strong teams not running well this weekend and even though JD finished good, not anywhere near his usual performance. Not sure what would trip all those guys up on the same night, but its worth noting. It seemed like a lot of guys weren't setup right on the RF, if you'd watch closely, several teams seemed to shove the RF bad if they tried to charge the corner. I expect, Bloomquist, Moyer, Owens and Davenport to pickup the pace as the summer gets hotter and drier.

Nothing wrong with a BWRC, nothing. Devin Moran has been flying all year in his, if Lanigan hadn't chopped him coming off the corner the other week and spun him, the stats might look different. Lanigan to me appears to be driving desperate, kinda ruthless unnecessarily. JMO

Maybe he's burnt out. Maybe its the cars, shocks whatever. I think you'll see him drop off the tour after this season and run a more regional tour like Marlar does. Jimmy does have a son that he's quoted many times he misses thru the season.

Right here it is folks. I'm sure he can't dedicate his time to just racing like he did a few years ago. I think he would do a lot better if he could fall back and run around and hit the bigger races. Marlar and Madden are 2 good examples.

Stay in this sport long enough and there's going to be highs and lows. Good example, Bill Frye in the late 90's. He left GRT winning lots of races, tried every chassis brand made for a few years and didn't win hardly anything. Went back to GRT and picked right back up winning. Jimmy, Barry, and Lance have been this game long enough and they are all smart enough to get it turned around.

I talked with him on twitter a couple times last year.. He said he wasn't involved in racing at that time.. He said he was burnt out on all the things that it takes to run a touring car, and being away from home. It's too bad, because they were quite a team..

well hell it`s not as easy as u think staying on top of the game and winning year after year u have to give credit were credit is due to the ones who are repeatedly in the winners circle. they are racing with the best in it`s class and staying ahead of the game of all the changes that are going on. larry moore, jeff purvis, mike duvall, billy moyer.bloomduist, jack boggs all winners and have struggled at some points in their racing history.

Hopefully Jimmy and BW have figured something out. The series is better when he's on. :)
