They didn't run 2 laps..... They took the green flag and went through turns 1 and 2 and Bloomer came flying out on the track. He was not a lap down. Hell he even restarted in 6th place after a caution. So if Eldora was saying he was a lap down, they screwed up the restart lineup big time. Either way he should have had his ass in the staging area like the rest of them.

I am not a bloomer fan, but I love the show he puts on and story lines that his perpetual and unrelenting tardiness creates. Come on man, get your head out. Or find a crew member that is at least responsible enough to make sure you get to staging on time.

On the other hand, UMP/Eldora speedway doesn't really seem to know what they are doing either when it comes to making these calls. You line the man up like he's on the lead lap for a restart, and then wait till an hour later to tell him he hasn't made the race. And Marlar too when he jumped the start on Wendell and they didn't do anything until the end of the race and docked him two spots. Never really seen that before.

They explained last night why he was scored a lap down in the B Main (he did not grid with the rest od the cars- no one should be surprised by that!). As for lining up 6th on the restart, my guess is lapped cars restart where they are running in line regardless of the lap they are on.

Again, the rule is a driver jumping the starts will be penalized two spots on the next yellow. There was no yellow during his heat thus the two spot placing penalty after the race.

Pretty sure they would immediately throw a caution are not even waive the green flag if it was that blatant of a jump. Driver would gain from the penalty if they went through with that. Marlar lost out in his situation so was a true penalty.

Who really lost out was the pole-sitter that got freight-trained because he got jumped on. Granted, Wendell is known to slip-slide away anyhow, just thought it was odd. Apparently the DOD doesn't know the rules either because they didn't announce anything during the race saying he'd be penalized 2 spots until it was over. Not digging on the DOD guys, heck I didn't know either. Looking forward to night #2 tonight to see what kind of goofy crap happens this time.

Before the heats started yesterday, an eldora official came around said weather was in the area, so they wasn't going to mess around with piddly $hit.

My guess is that start wasn't important enough to waste time, at that time. After the heats were over they did take a lengthy intermission for track work. The weather that was threatening the area had done passed by this time.
