Summit Racing Equipment AMS “Battle of the High-Banks” at Volunteer July 1 and Tazewell July 2

Glasgow, KY-June 26, 2016 (www.americanmodifiedseries.com)- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will make the trip to the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee for an event that has been tabbed the “Battle of the High-Banks” when the tour visits Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Friday July 1 for $2,000 to win and then on to Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN on Saturday July 2 for $3,000 to win.

Of note, the series will present “AMS Cash Days” for these two events, with the highest three AMS point earners for the weekend eligible for cash bonus money (1st- $500, 2nd- $300, 3rd- $200) and if the same driver can win both events, that driver will earn a $500 bonus. In addition, per Volunteer Speedway insurance regulations, all cars must be equipped with window nets and drivers must use gloves. Both track use transponders for timing/scoring and the rental fee at each track will be $10.

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will make its first-ever visit Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN as part of the track’s Scott Sexton Memorial program and the tour will be in action in a complete program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B Mains, and a 30 lap, $2,000 to win/$200 to start A-Main event. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in action at Volunteer Speedway on Friday July 1 will be the CT Promotions Iron-Man Mountain Championship Series, paying $3,052 to win for Super Late Models, along with the track’s Sportsman Late Models ($800 to win) and Modified Street Stocks ($500 to win). Entry fee for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is $50 and, per UMP DirtCar rules for Modifieds, there is NO grooving of tires and the legal tire compounds are A40, A40S, and H40 only. There will also be a huge fireworks program as well during the evening.

The doubleheader weekend will conclude on Saturday July 2 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN with the tour in action in a complete program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B Mains, and the 40 lap, $3,000 to win/$225 to start A-Main contest presented by Claiborne Marine of Tazewell. Joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in action at Tazewell Speedway on Saturday July 2 will be the CT Promotions Iron-Man Mountain Championship Series Super Late Models, paying $5,000 to win, along with the track’s Sportsman Late Model division, while other support divisions will be announced by the track. Entry fee for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is $50 and, per UMP DirtCar rules for Modifieds, there is NO grooving of tires and the legal tire compounds are A40, A40S, and H40 only. The event will also have a huge fireworks program as well.

All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the July 1 event at Volunteer Speedway in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will cost $35.

Activities for the Saturday July 2 event at Tazewell Speedway will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:30 p.m, following immediately by time trials and green flag racing. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the July 2 event at Tazewell Speedway in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.
