I would expect the usual Hell Tour guys. A lot of WoO guys are probably already home assessing the damages from Thurs. night.

They could have raced tonight. It sounds to me like they made up their minds days ago that they would cancel and didn't even try to get it in.

How do you know they could have raced, were you there and what did you hear or read that makes you think they made up their minds to cancel days ago?

I'm close to the track now obviously. How else would I know? Duh! It barely rained.

And why do you people even look at weather forecasts? They're never right.

You're from Burgettstown PA, why are you near the track?

I'm 30 minutes north. Watched the radar all morning. The rain did not amount to as much as previously expected. Was pretty much over by 1:00.
Gear Head was right. They probably could have raced considering the amount of rain. But you always have the "WHAT IF" to consider. Had the rain intensified or pushed farther north and they had to cancel, people would be complaining even more. It's a double edge sword that haunts tracks and promoters.
I'm p1zzed they canceled but not at WoO or Lincoln, I'm p1zzed at Ma Nature:(

If there was a 4M dumb question of the year award you would win it! To watch racing. Again, duh! That's usually why people travel to racetracks.

Yea but you said in an earlier post it sounds like they were wanting to cancel a few days ago, why would you make that long trip knowing that, now who's the idiot?

Gear Head, are you going to LaSalle tomorrow night? Should be hammer down with all that light rain lastnight and cloudy skies tomorrow. I would expect a great show.

So that I could go to FALS last night and follow the tour through Highland. Who's the idiot? Still not me.

Iam in Lincoln now and went by the track. Pit area and parking lots looked good. Hard to tell about the track but I suspect it could have been made ready. Just in the area visiting friends and was going to the race.

Yep, following the tour through Highland then heading back. Looks like tomorrow will be the last comfortable day before the highs get back into the 90's.

Yeh, nice little break in the weather. Hope you see some good races. Safe travels.

The problem also arises even if they could have raced would enough fans showed up to pay for the event with the the weather in the area. Sometimes just have to bite the bullet and cancel early.

It rained HARD in the early afternoon before Lincoln's 2013 Summernationals show and they still ran and had a SRO crowd on hand. I'm sure the crowd wouldn't have been an issue since the weather was nice this afternoon.

I didn't think Sargent was known for cancelling prematurely which tells me it was a WRG decision.

You can't make a cancellation decision based on what happened 3 days before, so yes. Besides, most of them ran at Fayette County the next night.

Gear Head, I know the forecast kept saying are area was suppose to get anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain and when I looked at the radar it sure looked like it was going to rain a lot and that can affect your car counts and fan base. I don't have a clue who canceled and why but, I'm not going to second guess them in the perdicament they were in. I just feel bad for guys like you who drove this far to see a race at Lincoln and they canceled.

I've been attending Sargent promoted races from the time Sarge was just getting started in the race promotion business and it's usually a safe bet that he'll pull the plug pretty quickly.
