Busy Holiday Weekend for CMI Nets Rod Conley Top Five in Independence 60

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Rod Conley and his #71r team were impressive in a pair of $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles on July 2-3 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio and Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio! On Saturday night at PRP, Rod won his loaded heat race prior to finishing fifth in the 'Independence 60' behind only victor Scott Bloomquist, Jared Landers, Steve Francis, and Tim McCreadie. At Zanesville on Sunday evening, "Hot Rod" grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race and later motored past five competitors during the 60-lapper en route to a solid ninth place showing.

R.J. Conley started off his holiday weekend on Friday, July 1 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace transferred into the $10,000 to win 'Bob Miller Memorial' before unfortunately retiring early in the 50-lap main event to settle for a twentieth place effort. At PRP on Saturday, R.J. ran fourth in his stacked heat race before winding up twenty-first in the final rundown of the 'Independence 60.' Delmas and J.T. Conley also entered Saturday's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series program at Portsmouth Raceway Park, but were unable to make the starting field for the $12,000 to win headliner. Complete results from these Independence Day weekend races can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.201speedway.net.

The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams will all return to dirt-slinging competition this Saturday evening, July 9 at a pair of familiar Buckeye State ovals. Delmas, R.J., and J.T. Conley will all converge on Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a weekly Super Late Model show, which carries a $2,000 top prize. Rod Conley will unload his Rocket Chassis on Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, as a $1,500 winner’s check will be on the line in another weekly program.
