It’s All Good in the Governor’s Cup for Riley Hickman
Cleveland, Tennessee (07/18/16) – Another race and another win. It’s that’s simple for Riley Hickman. His hot hand continued on Saturday night, when he powered his Hickman Manufacturing #R1 CVR Super Late Model to the $5,000 victory in the 13th annual Cliburn Tank Lines Governor’s Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
“Brad (Carvin) has got this hot rod really running good right now,” said Hickman with his signature smile. “I always love coming here to Magnolia Motor Speedway, and it feels really great to be standing here in victory lane.”
Following the Southern All Star Series, Riley Hickman headed to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Saturday night for the 13th annual Governor’s Cup. With 27 Super Late Models registered for action at the state-of-the-art, 3/8-mile oval, Hickman registered the 2nd-fastest time in qualifying behind only Wendell Wallace. As a result, he started outside-front-row for the finale. Jumping into the lead early, Riley held off the 24-car field to capture his 12th victory of the season along with a $5,000 payday. Jack Sullivan, David Breazeale, Dane Dacus, and Eric Cooley trailed Hickman to the checkers.
