The rescheduled Ultimate series race for $20,000 to win is this Saturday. What kind of field is to be expected? I am assuming Satterlee will be there, any of the other suspended drivers or any other surprise entrants? I have been trying to go to a race there for the past few years.....always seems to rain for their big shows.

I'd expect the locals such as Hollidge, Covert, Arthur, Moreland, Long, Lathroum, the Pettyjohns, and a few guys from Winchester being how they're off... And Ultimate drivers Collins, Rambo, Roberts, and maybe a few others... Would like to see a few Carolina guys, i.e. Ferguson, Madden, Smith, Millican, etc... But I don't expect the count to get above 40... Should be a good show, and the weather is looking pretty good thus far...

Maddens out for another 2 wks. Cherokee has a $4k carolina clash race also. No comparison to ultimates $20k but im sure some will run cherokee. Rambos points leader so i see him going to vms.dk what fergy will do. Im thinking bailes and pursley will choose cherokee.jmo

Fergy and Davenport both said at the beginning of the year that they were hitting this race. Of course that was before it being pushed back so who knows

Davenport will be at Cedar Lake. Fergy might not be racing.

Id be surprised to not see Ferguson there considering it's a track he likes, a race hes won, and obviously the 20k

Same here, I have tried going 3 or 4 times over the last few years and it rained EVERY time. It is definitely a track on my bucket list, but I will wait another year. I'm picking THE TRUTH in an upset over Bloomquist if he is there.

Rain hit just as the last hot lap session hit ...under rain delay now....if you go by hot laps, Bloomquist bad fast followed by McDowell. ...don't see anyone else close

Rain won (as usual) and what I read is that it would not be rescheduled. If they would reschedule for Thanksgiving time, they could have 100 cars!

100 cars??? I highly doubt that. When was the last time you seen 100 cars???

VMS can't catch a break. The staff works hard on planning big events each year but can't catch a break with the rain outs.

VMS could have easily gotten the show in if they were willing to work the track after the rain instead of putting a handful of packer trucks on the track. There's no reason at all to not clip the track with a grader, especially with 35-40 super lates and 35-40 crates sitting in the pits.

Says with the high humidity the moisture was coming up and they couldn't get the track to do anything.

vadirtfan
08-06-2016, 11:58 PM
It wasn't the humidity that was the problem, it was their approach. No amount of laps with 5 packer trucks could have gotten that track race ready after an hour and a half rain. They have 2-3 graders there but are scared to use them. They would have been better off calling the race when it started raining instead of wasting 3 hours of everybody's time.

I think if they woulda had the cars on the track start at the bottom like they said instead of the racers trying to climb the track it woulda worked. But they needed someone in the corners pointing the way instead of amateur hour. But i bet the crew is good at asphalt.

VMS has $hit luck when it comes weather.. But instead of bashing the track and the ppl that run it, how about y'all just stay home... Funny how ppl become track prep experts when they've probably never even walked across a race track... But I reckon morons are entitled to their opinions like everyone else...
