Rodney Sanders Visits Valley Victory Lane; Set for Busy Week

Happy, Texas (08/09/16) – Rodney Sanders started the Hunt for the USMTS Championship with a bang by piloting his Wichita Tank Racing #20 MB Customs/Hatfield Racing Engine Modified to the opening round win on Thursday evening at Valley Speedway.

“We are in a bit of a point’s hole to start the Hunt so I knew it was important to get off to a good start,” said Sanders. “The win definitely helped, but now we have to give it a 110% every night if we are going to have a chance at our third championship.”

Kicking off The Hunt with the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Rodney Sanders invaded Valley Speedway (Grain Valley, Missouri) on Thursday night. In a field of 31 entries, Sanders gained four spots in his heat, recording a 2nd-place finish. Earning the pole position for the feature, Rodney cruised to his 10th win of the season, which over Cade Dillard, Jesse Sobbing, Jason Hughes, and Stormy Scott. Sanders picked up a $3,000 payday for his triumph in the 42-lap A-Main.

On Friday night The Hunt headed to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Gaining four positions in his heat race, Sanders landed a runner-up finish behind Jeremy Payne, setting him up with the 6th-starting position for the feature. Losing one spot in the 42-lapper, Rodney registered a 7th place outing.

The following night brought the USMTS followers to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the 7th Annual Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. After logging a 4th-place outing in his heat, Sanders transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Sending the top six to the finale, Rodney scored a runner-up finish behind Jeremy Payne, giving him the 16th-starting spot for the main event. Storming through the field ten positions, Rodney Sanders reeled in a 6th-place finish in the main event.
