(Mars, PA) The UFo Championship Challenge will compete in a holiday double header weekend at two Pennsylvania supertracks. Port Royal Speedway will present the “Butch Renninger 33” paying $3,300 to win on Saturday, September 3. Dog Hollow Speedway and the Bobik Family will hold the annual
“Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish 126” on Sunday September 4. The payoff for the “Connor Bobik 125” has been boosted to $4,000 to win by Dave’s Auto Body of Woodbury, PA. This event will now showcase triple late model features with the CARS Crate/Pro-Late Models competing in twin features.
The UFo Championship will attack the ½ mile clay superspeedway at Port Royal for the second time in 2016 on Saturday, September 3. The “Butch Renninger 33” will pay $3,300 possible to win and will kick off the 162nd annual Juniata County Fair at the fairgrounds track.
The “Butch Renninger 33” pays tribute to the three time Late Model track champion. Butch captured track championships in the beginning years of the division at Port Royal in 1966, 1967 and 1970. Butch is fourth on the all-time track Late Model winner’s list with 41 victories.
The 33 lap feature will pay $3,300 to win in honor of Butch’s car number. The race will pay $300 to start and non-qualifiers will receive $150. The mighty 410 Super Sprints will be in competition for $3,200 to win along with the Econo-Lates and Xtreme Stocks. This event will require Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder, with a minimum hardness of 36. All other UFo tire specifications will apply.
All people entering the fairgrounds are required to pay $4 fair admission in addition to the race event ticket prices. Ticket prices for the UFo “Butch Renninger 33” will be $18 for regular grandstand admission and $7 for juniors age 12-18 in the grandstands. All pits tickets will be $32. All gates will open at 4:00 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00. The rain date for this event is Friday, September 9 and will run under the Route 35 Championship sanction instead of UFo Championship if that date is utilized.

The “Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish 126” will take place at Dog Hollow Speedway on Sunday night, September 4. This race pays tribute to the son of the track photographer and his wife, Derek and Diane Bobik, who lost his battle with cancer in 2010. The Bobik family has raised over $30,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through this event since its inception with their Chinese Auction. The “Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish 126” will be a mega-late model program with three total late model features during the night.

The payoff for the UFo Super Late Models has been boosted to $4,000 to win, and $300 to start courtesy of Dave’s Auto Body of Woodbury, PA. Information on this great business can be found at https://www.facebook.com/davesautobodyrepairllc or by calling 814-793-4669.

The UFo Super Late Models will compete in passing points, extended lap heat races, consolation(s) and a 41-lap championship feature. Dog Hollow allows open compound tires meeting UFo tire specs. Non-qualifers will receive $125 for this event.

This year’s event has received some changes to the originally announced line-up due to the two weekly point events that were not run in August. The CARS Crate/Pro-Late Models will now compete in twin 20 lap features paying $600 to win, and $65 to start each race. Each feature will carry full track and CARS points. The 4-cylinder Sidewinders will race for $250 to win, along the Pure/Hobby Stocks both competing for track points. The PA Vintage Mods have also been added to the program.

At Dog Hollow pit gates will open a 3:00 with grandstands opening at 4:30. The pill draw cut-off will be at 5:50 with the drivers meeting at 6:00. Warm-ups for the Super Late Models will begin at 6:30 with racing at 7:00.

Grandstand admission is $20, seniors 60+ $17, junior 13-17 $10, children 7-12 $5. All pit tickets will be $35. Super Late Models and Pro-Lates will have a $25 entry fee deducted from final payoff. A $75 fee will be charged to any driver competing in multiple late model divisions.
