I know 4 that will not be there for sure. How many more will the tire rule drive away? (keep in mind its pretty much the same tire rule that drove them away from the Summernationals).

My personal guess is 80.

What is yours and why?

68 total.......

I think this will be the lowest number of cars in world 100 history. The "new"tire rule and tiregate from the dream will keep drivers away. Not all drivers that go to Eldora have room in their budget for all new non grooved Hoosiers. 75 cars.

Hmmm, last year their were I believe 89.

Subtract the 4 (I believe it was 5), and you've got 85.

Your personal guess is 80? 5 cars less??

According to your numbers, I guess the tire rule will actually have no effect at all.

419 cars!!!

We were guessing how many matchbox cars old fan has in his sandbox?

I'm still going with 68 as the number for eldora........a very stout 68

the sport is getting more and more expensive, and car counts will keep going down, new tire rules, having to run 3 nights, that's a lot of laps on a motor!!! your low budget teams hope to run one engine all year and freshen it up over the winter, but you run all year up to the world and have around 700 laps, your hope is 750 to 1000 before the 10,000 to 15,000$$ freshen job and you could easily have 250 laps over the world 100 weekend,,,,,,,,,

An observation if I may..... At all the previous Worlds, don't ya think it took new tires for the weekend to win, make field, have a decent run, what have ya? Whether they was grooved, sipped, or buffed? Only cars I think it might affect is those drivers that show up, knowing they ain't got a chance in hell of making a b-main, just wanna say I ran at the Big E World weekend, and go out and run a 21.456 in time trials. They might not be in a position to buy a bunch of new tires. Especially if Eldora is the only place they could race em, wouldn't work at their local Saturday night track. ...Even more money up for grabs this year, and 3 huge Eldora favorites not gonna be there. With all that said, you'll gain cars and lose some. But no change in count. 90-100 in attendance.

you might gain some guys that you wouldn't expect I know at least 3 weekly racers that are fired up about the tire rule less prepping to do that weekend

There will be 92 cars in attendance at the World 100 this season.

Thanks,

Mid 90's to low 100's... Been there enough years to give an educated guess, even in tough times they still draw a decent field of cars... But just like Knoxville I'd rather have Quality rather than Quantity.

Right at 100, and good cars. Hoping for better weather. Also will be no Landers with his crazy neck injury.

Why pay a high price for a dirt race you cannot see because of the dustI've gone almost every year since about 94-96?, and yet to not be able to see because of dust. Guessing you need better seats. Though I've sat in turn one a few times, primarily I'm in the frontstretch stands, and never has it been unbearable. It is also a dirt track, though I understand your point.

Muskingum once, and Raceway 7 have been two I have went to where the dust was insane. Ky Lake also.

I have been setting on the hillside of turns 3 and 4 the last 15 years for the dream and the world.. You’re always going to get dirty but it’s no worse or no better now than it was... actually last year I didn't even need my goggles or sunglasses.. If you want to watch racing and not have to shower after go to an asphalt track... you go to Eldora for the racing, the history, the prestige, the atmosphere, and more importantly those globes!

Eldora > Your Track
08-24-2016, 07:57 AM
Yup, as said before. I think you need better seats. Haven't had much of a problem on the front stretch.

Ok folks. 3 drivers from bama are suppose to be there. That's unheard of. I'm taking that as a good sign of a good car count. There's usually zero from my state. Maybe those 6 Saturday heats will be full again.
