Ponderosa Speedway Announces Revised Schedule for Remainder of 2016 Season
Junction City, KY (August 28, 2016)- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs are pleased to announce the revised schedule of events for the remainder of the 2016 racing season at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.
The next event at the track will now take place on Friday September 2 and will feature a full racing program of Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. The track will then be off of September 9 for the World 100 and also be off on September 16 for the Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge, but will return to action on Friday September 23 with another full racing program for Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
The Big Daddy Classic, an event that will be presented in memory of the late Paul “Big Daddy” Feistritzer, will take place on Friday September 30 and will feature the Pro Late Models racing 50 laps for $3,088 to win, along with the American Dirt Allstars sanctioned KDRA Super Stocks racing for $1,088 to win, plus Modifieds ($888 to win), Stock Four Cylinders ($488 to win), and Mini-Cup/Cyclones ($188 to win), while Super Late Models will have the night off on September 30.
The month of October will kick off with OctoberFest 2016 on Friday October 7, featuring Super Late Models racing for $3,000 to win and Pro Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, plus a full racing program for Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. The track will be off on October 14 for the Dirt Track World Championship, but will return with Fan Appreciation Night on Friday October 21, with that event featuring Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. The track will off of October 28.
The final weekend of racing for 2016 will be a Friday/Saturday twinbill of racing competition. On Friday November 4, the 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial will take place, featuring Super Late Models racing for $3,000 to win, plus a full racing program for Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. The season will conclude on Saturday November 5 with the 26th Annual Fall Classic sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series, paying Super Late Models $10,000 to win, along with Pro Late Models racing for $1,200 to win and Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win, plus the American Dirt Allstars KDRA Super Stocks will conclude their season with the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial, paying $1,200 to win
