FASTRAK CHEVY PERFORMANCE $15,000 TO WIN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN TO EVERYONE
The richest race of the entire year for the Chevy Performance Parts Late Models is about to be here once again, but this year history will be made. For the first time in history of this event it will be open to all teams. That has never been done before in the thirteen year history of the series, but in talks with Virginia Motor Speedway management and FASTRAK series management the decision was made last year to open it to everyone. “It was time” said FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester. Both of the staffs decided to go ahead and announce a Sunday rain date so fans and teams would be assured of this historical event being completed that weekend.
Lester added, “there isn’t another event of this magnitude in crate late model racing in the entire country and it was time to let everyone come and experience what FASTRAK is all about, how competitive crate racing truly is and let the best of the best come and compete against each other. It isn’t just the first place $15,000 to win either, the entire payback is tremendous”.
Friday night’s World Challenge is still limited to FASTRAK members only with ten races. That event pays $5000 to win and the winner will get a World Globe trophy similar to the Saturday nights winner. “I really like this format” stated VMS General Manager Clark Sawyer. “It takes care of the local teams that race at FASTRAK weekly tracks all over the country and also showcases the very best crate late model teams from everywhere. I truly believe this is a win-win for the speedway, the FASTRAK series and crate late model teams from across the nation allowing the fans to see a true World Champion of Chevy Performance Late Models”.
“Fans need to come out and see this show” stated track owner Bill Sawyer. “No one could even explain how great this race has been for the last two years. It’s been down to the last lap every year with more passing and side by side racing than people can even imagine. It’s going to be a real treat for the fans and teams from everywhere”.
History will be made during this very competitive event. No doubt this will be the single most exciting weekend of the season for the Chevy Performance Late Models with driver talent and car set up being the key to who wins, versus deep pockets.

Engines: GM 602 or 604 crate engines with all stock GM parts only. All series seals allowed.
Tires: Hoosier FT200/400 crate spec. Cannot groove and sipe 200, buffing only. May groove and sipe 400. Tires will be checked all during the event and samples will be taken for lab testing.
