Jeep Van Wormer and Iron Motorsports Prepare for World 100 at Eldora Speedway

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer's lone event in the month of August came last Wednesday, August 24 at Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan. The American Ethanol Late Model Tour midweek special drew a strong field of competitors, all of whom were vying for the $4,000 winner's check. Jeep timed in fourth quickest in his group during qualifying prior to running fourth in his heat race. The Pinconning, Michigan ace later won his B-Main to earn the seventeenth starting spot in the 40-lap headliner.

After storming towards the front early in the feature, Jeep was deemed responsible for an incident that drew a caution flag and was sent to the tail of the field for the restart. He once again pointed his #55 machine towards the front and rallied to post a respectable seventh place effort. Full results from the show at Tri-City Motor Speedway can be accessed online at www.aelmt.com.

Iron Motorsports will enjoy the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend (September 2-4) off from any racing competition. Their next outing will be over the September 8-10 weekend when they invade the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 46th edition of the ‘World 100.’ Time trials, heat races, last chance events, and $10,000 to win Twin 25s will be on tap next Thursday and Friday at the “Big E” leading into Saturday’s ‘World 100.’

Heats, B-Features, and the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza are on the card for Saturday evening and a whopping $49,000 top prize will be up for grabs. Jeep has made nine career ‘World 100’ starts and his best finish of third came back in both 2006 and 2008.
