Gregg Satterlee Tags Two-Win Weekend; Knoxville Next

Indiana, Pennsylvania (09/05/16) – Greg Satterlee rumbled through his home state of Pennsylvania over the course of the Labor Day weekend in his Satterlee Petroleum Distributors #22 Rocket Chassis XR1/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model and came away with a pair of wins to show for his efforts.

Kicking off the Labor Day Weekend, Gregg Satterlee traveled to Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania) on Friday night for the unsanctioned, Labor Day Classic 55. After timing in fastest in a field of 32 Super Late Models, Satterlee landed a 2nd-place finish in his heat, locking him into the $5,055-to-win feature. Posting a Top 5 finish, Gregg scored a 3rd-place finish behind Matt Cosner and Dylan Yoder with Keith Barbara and D.J. Myers trailing them across the finish line.

On Saturday night Satterlee headed to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) for the UFO Championship Challenge, sanctioned program. With 38 cars signed in for the Butch Renninger Memorial, Gregg secured the pole position for the feature via preliminary events. After losing the top spot early in the event, Satterlee made the pass for the lead with six laps remaining to capture his sixth win of the season and a $3,300 payday. Coleby Frye, Dylan Yoder, Chad Hollenbeck, and Dan Stone rounded out the Top 5 finishers.

Closing out the three-day stint, Satterlee stopped at Dog Hollow Speedway (Strongstown, Pennsylvania) on Sunday for the 6th Annual Connor Bobik Memorial. Drawing 36 entries for the $4,000 prize, Satterlee started the night off with a heat race win, securing his spot in the UFO sanctioned main event. Taking the lead on lap 15, Gregg held off the field for the remaining distance of the feature, registering his seventh victory of the season. Tim Senic, Joe Martin, Dan Angelicchio, and Dave Blazavich completed the Top 5.

“We had a really great weekend,” said Satterlee. “Our team is really performing well right now, and with as stiff as the competition is at these events, it feels really good to get two wins and a podium.”

Satterlee will not race anywhere this coming weekend as he turns his focus to the upcoming 13th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on September 15-17. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) will sanction the mega event, which will see $7,000-to-win features held on Thursday and Friday before the weekend draws to a close with a $40,000-to-win event on Saturday evening.
