Dennis Erb, Jr. Looks for More Eldora Success on Heels of Strong Labor Day Weekend!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The #28 team bolted to the states of Ohio and West Virginia over the Labor Day holiday weekend (September 2-4) for a trio of high-profile Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throwdowns. The dirt-slinging action started in the Buckeye State with a $10,000 to win show at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and a $12,000 to win program at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. On Friday at Attica, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran third in his heat race prior to passing ten competitors during the 50-lapper en route to a sterling runner-up effort behind only race winner Jonathan Davenport. In the 'Pepsi 60 River Days Rumble' on Saturday evening at PRP, Dennis placed second in his heat race, led laps 12-28 of the 60-lap headliner, and eventually wound up second once again behind only victor Jonathan Davenport.

Things then wrapped up on Sunday night with the annual running of the 'Hillbilly Hundred' at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie once again boasted a hefty $25,000 payday. Dennis clicked off the seventh fastest time in Group A during the qualifying session and later ran third in his loaded heat race. After starting the 100-lap grind from the inside of the fifth row, the Carpentersville, Illinois star was able to move past a trio of racecars on the one-groove racing surface on his way to a steady sixth place performance. Dennis exited the holiday weekend fourth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Complete results from all three venues can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The biggest and most prestigious event in our industry will take center stage over the upcoming September 8-10 weekend, as Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio will play host to the 46th Annual ‘World 100.’ A full slate of time trials, heat races, last chance races, and $10,000 to win Twin 25s will be on tap on both Thursday and Friday at the “Big E” leading into Saturday’s ‘World 100.’ Six heat races, B-Features, and the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza are all on the card for Saturday evening and a whopping $49,000 top prize will be up for grabs.

Dennis has made eight career starts in the “Biggest Dirt Race in the World” and his best finish of tenth came back in both 2004 and 2009. He will be rolling into the 1/2-mile speedplant with a ton of momentum at the storied facility, as he claimed the $100,000 paycheck for winning the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ back in June.
