I have never been there for a rained out prelim, but Saturday rained out about 5 years ago and they ran it Sunday afternoon. That was a great night at the Dingus, from what I can remember...

They will have four days to run them. They should get it in, one way or another. BTW the track races pretty good in the day time too. And yes, there is Dingus for plan B.

Sorry, 4m deleted my original login info. Decided to open a new one. No, there is no curfew at Knoxville Raceway. However, I wouldn't anticipate them running until 3 am just to get a show in (except maybe Saturday night) as school is in session and the track is in town (not on the outskirts or in the country, it is literally in the middle of town). As far as the weather goes? Who knows at this point, the same TV channel gave 3 different forecasts within a 2 hour span last night with 3 different TV Meteorologists (one called for late Thursday night into early Friday AM showers, one called for heavy rains all 3 days, and one called for no rain at all). That is weather in Iowa, we won't know for sure until it happens. For those that don't follow Knoxville Raceway on Twitter, Thursday has been dubbed as "Thirsty Thursday". Busch Lite is $1 per can all night (or until they run out) at the beer stand. They did this for a weekly show and on Thursday of the 360 Nationals as well. As long as people drink responsibly, they will continue with promotions such as this in the future according to Kendra and the Fairboard. People start binge drinking and causing trouble in the stands, campgrounds or on the road, they will probably discontinue it. Hoping for a good car count (hard to say since basically no time between the World and this event this year) and if the races throughout the year weekly and during the Sprint Nationals are any indication, this should be an awesome race. Forecast not changing much on MSN weather. Maybe Saturday and Sunday but Thursday and Friday are looking pretty bad around here. I'm not that far away and they have been pretty much spot on lately for the weather around here.

The forecast I've been looking at shows a chance of rain around 3PM Thursday. Then rain from 11 PM Thursday night through 1 PM Friday.

LM14, I will be there watching Friday and Saturday. Weather permitting I will be racing in Marshalltown Thursday night.

Looks like weather will hold tonight, but tomorrow may be a wash depending on when the rain comes in. If it washes tomorrow and they cancel, I wonder if they would try to do a double show Saturday...that would be pretty sweet.

Headed that way in 30 minutes. It's nice to live fairly close! Cloudy but decent out. Looks like rain late night tonight and mid day tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed!

I called the track and they said that they at least need to run one preliminary night. So if they run tonight and get rained out on Friday, they will run just the scheduled final program on Saturday. They will not run a doubleheader on Saturday. If it were to rain out both Thursday and Friday, it sounds like Saturday would be a prelim show and Sunday would be the finale.

Local stations are calling for most of the rain to be out by noon tomorrow and a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon.
