Jimmy Mars Leads World 100 Prelim Before Landing on Podium; Knoxville Next

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The #28 team and driver Jimmy Mars, along with 107 other competitors, made their way to the famed high-banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 8-10 for the 46th edition of the 'World 100.' The three-day spectacular at the 1/2-mile, Darke County oval kicked off with a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Jimmy ran second in his heat race prior to slipping back to eighth in his 25-lap feature event. At the track known as the "Big E" on Friday evening, Jimmy also finished second in his heat race, but led laps 2-19 of the 25-lapper before settling for an impressive third place podium showing behind only victor Bobby Pierce and runner-up Devin Moran!

At Eldora Speedway on Saturday, the weekend concluded with the "Biggest Dirt Race in the World" and everyone in attendance had their sights set on the $49,000 top prize, along with the storied globe trophy. Jimmy placed fifth in his loaded heat race and later utilized a points provisional to gain access into the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza. After starting the 'World 100' from the outside of the tenth row, the Menomonie, Wisconsin star pitted a couple of times early in the distance and eventually retired from the contest in the twenty-sixth position. Another huge three-day mega-event will greet Mars Racing on September 15-17 at the historic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. The 13th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ will take center stage at the Marion County Fairgrounds facility and things will start later tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) with $7,000 to win preliminary shootouts. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie will then wrap up on Saturday evening with the D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals,’ which will once again pay $40,000 to the winner. Jimmy is the lone driver to transfer into each and every ‘Knoxville Nationals’ starting field since its inception and will look to keep that streak intact this weekend!
