I could not believe all the empty seats last night at Knoxville.
It looked like only around 200 people in the stands.
Was I blind or is it like that for just Thursday ???
Knoxville is on my bucket list. I think it looks like a great track.

I think there is about 40 rows, and the top 10-15 are under cover where most people would be sitting. Plus the grandstands are huge, so it was probably a bigger crowd than you think. And if you haven't been, it is a awesome facility and fun little town that loves racing.

Yes that place is huge so 5-6 thousand people dont look like much.

If there's confusion between 200 and 5-6000, somebody needs some help I am not able to provide.

What's with all the A55holes on here lately?

That place will look empty until it hits 10000 people they have so many seats. I wasn't there, watched at home, but in my experience the Thursday attendance is pretty low, but Friday/Saturday is significantly higher.

They might not be able to count higher than 200.

Thursday night is tough anyway, but with the weather so uncertain, it was an ok crowd. I was impressed last week at Eldora with a good Thurs. crowd. The forecast sucked and people turned out. If only the guys I was with wasn't so over-served, I could have stayed until the final checkered at around 3 am. I expect a good crowd tonight.

Agreed, its so big that it looks empty for any event other than the Sprint Car Nationals events.
Its a Sprint car town. Gotta wait for the out-of-towners to start filling it up tonight and tomorrow.

Honestly, I paid for the broadcast and i am not going to spend my time on this site giving free updates when I could be enjoying the racing. If you want to know what's going on live, then pay for it like the rest of it.

If you want live updates, get a twitter account. Carcount, fast time, lineups and results for heats, consi, and feature. Pretty much immediately after they happen.

Don't even need an account to follow Twitter. I can read updates when I'm logged out.

A normal crowd looks small there. I think it was down a bit from last year. We were in the pits and looking at the stands is deceiving. Remember there are boxes all the way across the top of the stands and more at the museum. Parking lots were pretty full but not totally packed. Pits didn't have as many people walking around as usual.

Was it crowded? No, there was a seat for anyone that wanted to see some good racing. That place can hold 24,000 people. I am here and think being so close to Eldora and Bad weather forecast hurt the attendance some. I just ran into a guy from Penn., who said they missed yesterday because they hadn't recuperated from Eldora and one of the guys I sit with, skipped it this year. Most of the old farts that you see at every good race where here. Nothing like hanging out and telling tales about the good old days. Sometimes It's more entertaining than the race.

You could put 10,000 people in the front stretch stands and you'll still have a ton of empty seats because the front straight stands hold 16,000 people

I have never been there and was not trying to start anything.
I watched it on PPV and when they paned the cameras around it looked empty, not 1 person on back stretch and very few on front.
Now if you want to say stuff about me being dummmm then go ahead and you can KISS this old mans A$$

As far as I know, they only open the backstretch stands for the 410 Knoxville Nationals (Sprint Cars)

It's difficult to sit on the backstretch WHEN IT'S NOT OPENED! That's probably why there was nobody back there!

the problem at knoxville is you have to sit at least 30 plus rows up to see over the infield haulers. otherwise it's hard to see the backstretch. thats why the lower stands are always empty...like someone said, they are quite a few folks in the suites on both sides of the track.

Tonight's show may be the best attended one i have seen. Im going to guess 13000 to 14000 fans. The lower 20 rows had more fans seated than any previous 8 i have been to. Thursdays crowd was good considering all factors. Fridays show i didn't attend.

I've only missed 4 nights since this event started. This had to be the best crowd they've ever had. Good show!

I heard, if the attendance gets high enough that the lower seats are filled, the Haulers won't be in the infield. I also heard they plan on widening the seats in 2018. More room. They are18 inches right now.

Does that mean, yo can eat one more hot dog, since you have growing room in that new seat. Better check that width again.

Knoxville is on my bucket list. I think it looks like a great track.

Guessing you watched the DoD feed....

Most camera angles only show the backstretch grandstand (seats 7600, but is CLOSED for all events except 410 Sprint Nationals).

Front stretch grandstand seats 17,289 (for comparison, Eldora sold 20,000 tickets to inaugural Truck Series Race - the highest attended race at Eldora EVER according to Roger Slack and that puts people from Turn #3 all the way to Turn #2 around the track).

Suites at Knoxville hold 400 at Hall of Fame and Museum, probably another 4-600 on Frontstretch and another 150 or so 2nd Floor of Hall of Fame (so you can have nearly 1200 in attendance with ZERO people in the stands).

I thought the crowds were good all 3 nights (and I think they announced that Saturday was largest crowd ever for the Event).

I think Kendra Jacobs will come up with some things to help grow this event even more now that she has a year under her belt as Marketing Director at the track.
